FAQ
Quick answers to the most common pool reverse osmosis questions.
How much does the process cost?
Pool reverse osmosis cost depends mainly on
pool gallons and starting chemistry.
San Diego pricing:
$800 up to 20,000 gallons
+ $15 per 1,000 gallons after that.

How does the Puripool Process work?
Our mobile filtration trailer utilizes
Reverse Osmosis (RO) to lower
Calcium Hardness, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), salts, phosphates, and CYA,
plus other dissolved contaminants your pool filter can’t remove.
Water is pulled from your pool, pre-treated before it reaches the membranes, then purified water is returned to the pool.
There’s no downtime and your interior finish is never exposed.
How long does it take?
Our reverse osmosis trailer can process 30,000 gallons in 24 hours.
Most residential pools can be treated in 12–16 hours.
Is this process safe?
Yes. Our system is fully self-contained and runs on its own power.
There are no extension cords near your pool. The pool remains full and safe during the purification process.
My pool water is cloudy or green/yellow. Will RO clean it?
RO removes
dissolved buildup (like calcium/TDS/CYA), but it’s not a replacement for
clearing algae or suspended solids.
Your pool should be clear and free of algae before RO so the process is efficient and results are best.
I can’t see hard water—how do I know it’s there?
If scaling has occurred, that’s the easiest way to know your water is hard—but it isn’t always visible.
Your best chance of seeing it is at night with the pool lights on.
If you haven’t changed your pool water in 2+ years, buildup is very likely present.
Is all of the water recycled?
Approximately
15%–25% of pool water can’t be recycled due to heavy concentrations
of calcium, TDS, and other dissolved contaminants.
That portion is discharged through your sewer clean-out and replaced with fill water from your home.
